Hello. I have a jaguar cichlid in my ca/sa 250 gallon community tank that is about 8.5-9 inches long and im wondering if anyone could sex it for me. I believe it is a female due to the lack of a lot of dots on the gill plates and body. But I have also been told that it is a male. Thank s

I feed Mine the hilarious cichlid gold I believe that's what it's called. The floating one. They also eat new life spectrum but they seem to prefer floating pellets

Hello everyone! So just as the title says wanted to know the sex of my jaguar cichlid. I have been told it's a male but I'm not sure as I believe the connecting of the spots especially throughout the body make me believe it's a female.

They great are pretty slow and sedentary fish. They can have short burst of speed.
And yes they are a predator but in the wild they generally stay at the bottom so they wait until night time till all the other fish move down to the bottom of the lake for cover and then they pick the fish off...
The synspilum haven't bothered any other fish except for when the Oscar Texas and jack were new. They also haven't breed for me. They were sold to me as s breeding pair though they seem to mostly mind their own business

Hello. I have a 250 gallon tank that has:
3 Australian salmontail catfish
2 mated synspilum
1 Oscar
1 jack Dempsey
1 Texas
4 silver dollars
2 archerfish.
Currently at my local fish store they have a jaguar cichlid that is in a tank with some Texas, Australian salmontail catfish...
Hmm well that would depend on what you like. You could possibly try something like a nandopsis salvini. But I don't have any experience with salvini
