Bought a second one. They are aggressive towards each other. The old hidey one floated up yesterday. Looks like the new one battled him for food. New one stays out though so good news and bad news. I can handle the death. At least I'm not paying for a fish I can't see even though I hate killing...
Buy a plant from the LFS. Snails usually come with them for free :-). I have 12 assasin snails in my tank and the pond snails out reproduce their appetite still
I've had a few they have all sucked. There's no real way to portion out the feeding. At best you can feed twice, once before work and once after work, and set the auto feeder to feed once while your gone and only put 1 feedings worth in there. My experience is one day it will dump a crap ton of...
That's perfect. Ty. Haven't seen ours in 2 months but I figure something's wrong or he's dead when I finally do see him. Lol. Good stuff on the many moons ago.
I've read a lot on them and the common thing is that they are peaceful fish except to those of its own species. Says they are best kept individual in community tanks unlike other loaches. I've thought of getting more but it says they are unlike other loaches with schooling habits. Do you guys...

Been tank in' 16 years. About to do my first discus breed. Posted this in breeding forum with no response. Hoping to get some first hand discus experience on this. Read up a ton on it, just looking for some pointers from someone who has gone through it.
What's the breeding age of discus? Got a...
Feed them what they are eating. Once they are eating that consistently don't feed them for a day or 2 then will probably devour whatever touched the tank next. They are new so make sure they are good sand healthy before starving for a couple days
I have had a horseface loach for about a year. Not that anyone would have known it. I spend at least an hour a day in front of my tank just watching what I have created functioning. I am lucky if I see this guy once a month and usually it a fleeting look before he buries himself into the sand...
Missed the whole thread but kudos to you. Fish have been my life for a long time and love hearing people saving them. Glad to hear there are people like you out there
