my tank is less than 10gal, it is covered in algae that needs cleaned about every 2 weeks. i have the light on about 16 hours a day, its fresh water

i have so much algae, someone suggested to buy an algae eater, i had one years ago that was so ugly it gave me the creeps and it jumped up to get air and it would startle me. are there any pretty ones? i have freshwater, a few glow fish and a few neon tetras. thanks:(

i was cleaning my tank and put my 2 neon tetras in with my betta, he is medium sized, now my tetras have gone missing, is it possible he ate them, ive even explored the filter to try to find them. is this possible? nancy:banghead:

thanks so much, i took your advice and bought the pellets, the neons will bite at it and when it breaks up they eat some of it. this batch of neons seems small to me, its hard to compare them because when i go to different pet stores they are always sold out of neons. nancy

i couldn't wait and bought 3 cheap fish(not goldfish) when i got my new tank. one is a bully and is especially darting:eek::hide: after one of the other fish at feeding time and the victim now hides. can you take them back to the pet store? what to do?

your neons are awesome, how big is your tank?, the info that came with my dip stix said 6.5-7 for tetra ph, i was thinking thats why i lost mine the ph was almost 8. im trying to learn this website.........so sorry for any mix ups ahead of schedule, ill check your advise article

i got my check sticks in the mail yesterday, every thing seemed ok but i read tetras like a ph of 6.5, my tank was 8, so i added some water for a quick fix but will clean it and adjust it before i buy more fish. i need to read more about cycling, i dont know about that yet
