I had battled GHA for about 6 months. Felt like I had tried just about everything, but this is what finally worked for me: Added another skimmer, put some phosphate removing media in my sump. Continued to remove manually, and in about 6 weeks, I was hair free!! Good luck, I know how frustrating...

try a sand sifting star. even with all my algae problems, the star keeps the sand spottless. I also have an engineer goby, who takes care of one side with his tunnels.

broke down and bought new bulbs. noticed a big difference, should have done it sooner. Algae seems to be under control, but i think this may be due to increased skimming. I THINK THAT I HAVE WON!!! :mrgreen:
