    AquaC Remora HOT in sump

same idea and setup almost ... I pretty much have the same setup as bckane but I have a 46g tank. I bought a 20 gallon glass tank and an H.O.T overflow and I was thinking of putting my Romara aqua C in the sump area as well. I'd remove the prefilter box and extend the intake tube for the...

I only have a yellow tang, an orchid dottyback, an emerald crab and a red banded shrimp. I feed the tang when I get home work some nori and then around 8:30PM I break a cube of frozen mysis shrimp in 1/2 and feed the rest. Since upgrading the lights, I have been running them for about 10 hours...

    sand bed turning browish?

Since upgrading my lighting to 192w PC's, my 46g sand bed is turning brownish in spots. This must be a bad sign but of what? Is it algae growth and how do I get rid of it? I try to do 5g water changes weekly up to 10 days do I need to do more?

    water OK?

I've got a 46 gallon LR & LS with a blue damsel, red banded shrimp, emerald crab and a cleaning crew. The tank has red algae on the glass (not bad) near the sand bed and a friend said that's OK, is it? My other question is, I'm seeing green algae growth (I think) on the LR and on the the...

I bought the fish March 23rd . yesterday I noticed a silk like string hanging on under his belly, this morning didn't notice any thing 'wrong' until tonight. He looked like he aged - faded orange, looks like fin rot - I just took him out and put him in the freezer to finish him off :cry...

    sick looking nemo

simple DIY sump for extra volume

This sounds just like what I want to do!! Add water volume because they say bigger is better and relocate my Ramora protein skimmer, heater etc to the sump. What size HOT overflow and return pump are you using? Can you send me setup details and a picture or two? Thanks.

simple DIY sump for extra volume

Yea I saw your design and good luck w/ it. but I think it's too big . My tank and cabinet is a 46gallon bow front so I think I need something taller than wider. Thanks again.

simple DIY sump for extra volume

I currently have a 46 gallon tank with LR and LS and few fish, a crab and a shrimp - nothing fancy. The tank also has a Remora protein skimmer, heater and (2) power heads in the tank (obviously) I'd like to add more water volume by adding a simple 10 or 20 gallon sump under the cabinet. I...

Does anyone thaw their Formula One food with RO water?

I'm new to all of this but when I feed my tank, I break off a small piece of mysis shrimp into a small cup, while it's still frozen I suction some tank water into the cup and stir until thawed then pour it all in the tank. Like I said, I don't know if correct or the best way but the food...
