I have built a durso standpipe for the output line to my sump, my fish keep swimming down it so I went and bought a strainer to cover the 1.25" intake. But when I got the strainer it is one inch so I had to buy a reducing bushing to make it fit. When I put it on the tank I overflow started to...
Everyday I have to check my CO2 cause my BPS drops down to the point where my drop checker turns blue. I have red sea regulator and a red sea bubble counter. I had no issues until I went from a 5 lb container to a 20lb I have checked for leaks and I have none. Can someone please help me.
The cycle is still going to happen cause you have fish in the tank. I would tell you to make sure you are treating every bit of water that you are going to be putting into the tank. Are you doing water changes everyday right now?
Ok so I have tried the airline in the overflow hole, I have tried making the hole smaller/larger. This nosie did not start until I put the tube into the water. Also the tube is a clear smooth tube, i did try it with a pool/spa tube that had ribs. i did not seem to do it with that tube why.
I would say go with the normal visi-therm, the stealth heaters have been good until I have had two decide not to shut off. I had a tank of cichlids and lost all but 2 of them. I also had a stealth that would not shut off out side of water. What type of fish do you have in the tank.
Well the tank started kind of a slurping sound now. I have clear tubing going into the sump. you can watch air bubble starting in the tube then slurp/gurgle the it goes quite for a little while.
The return pipe is in the water in the sump, the idea was to get very little water movment. The overflow drain pipe is a durso standpipe, I did not have any gurgle issues until I had to move the pipe up to raise the water level in the overflow. What else can i tell you that will help with an answer.
So here is my sump I am having some issues. So I guess the new set up is causing a air bubble in the intake from the tank, so every so often the stand pipe/sump gurgles. Is there any way to fix it?
I am new to the site, and I just wanted to say hi. I am just setting up my first tank with a sump and am having some issues but to that in a other section.
