Lately I've been noticing brown patches/spots around my 5 gallon aqarium. I can't quite figure out what it is...could it be brown algae?
If so, is it harmful for my fish?

Actually both the mollies keep going face up at the surface. I just did a 40% water change but before the water change the ammonia is 0, nitrite is 0 and nitrate was around 40ppm. The nitrate should now be lower. The temperature is also 4 degrees lower. My platies also keep poking the mollies...
I have a 5gallon that finished cycling and I have two platies and two mollies. One of my molly is pregnant and she is swimming head up, is that a sign that she is going to have her fry soon or is she ill?
Thanks for your answer. The store isn't open tomorrow and I didn't feel like going on Tuesday so I just went out today and got 2 mollies and 2 platies. :)
My 5 gallon fish tank has been cycling for over two weeks now. Yesterday around 4pm I added 9drops of ammonia. Today I didn't add any and when I tested the ammonia and nitrite, both are 0 and when I tested nitrate it is 5-10ppm. Is my tank done cycling and ready to add fish?
