Well I think we are getting two, really confusing with the par/wpg confusion from T5 to led. They mention a lot about MH savings etc. maybe I will call customer service and let them explain.
i have to admit the "shimmer" is pretty mesmerizing.

I just trimmed all mine all you do is bend the stem backwards and it breaks right off. Otherwise you have a bunch of little tidbits that will die off the stem (found out the hard way) :D
Take a look here I got one about a month ago and am very happy with it. Timers for each pair of bulbs and a set of leds too. Decent price and shipping was free when I ordered mine.
I have tons of ferts and good substrate from back when I had better lighting, just been in limbo for a while :whistle:
Be nice to have a decent wow tank again.
Thinking about 2 of these for my 90 gallon tall, right now its low light with plants because my current light is dying. I would like to get out of the low light category and eventually add CO2. If you have a better suggestion please let me know. :thanks:

Id say its possible for some types to be completely dry and live for maybe 100 years or more (spores) But the main thing you have to look at is what made it grow to begin with, and make sure thats still not your problem still. I have seen lots of types of algea just shrivel up and die because...
If anyone is doing a trimming in the near future and would have an assortment of clippings I would sure appreciate the help!

Ferts- you need Greg Watson, the price is right and the method is the way to go! Got my stuff 6 months ago and have not been back for soooo looooong (sorry guys) but when it works it works :wink:
