That is rare that you have just one. I do the same in my tank looking at everything a thousand times over. Making the slightest adjustments. I'm stumped if it is not a bristle worm. Hopefully you can get a pic. I'm interested in what it could be.
I usually drain from my main and fill in my sump. That way I don't have to lift my jugs as far. Anymore I fill a five gallon bucket and have a small pump to pump the water into my filer sock.
I would call CoralLife. You seem to have everything ok. I would just keep playing with both knobs. Put them both half way on. If that fails I think I would try another skimmer at this point.
That's a great idea. I had a friend that didn't do all the research and salt water life became a nightmare. Just take you time and plan out everything you want. If you just start adding things you'll limit yourself in the future. Fail to plan, plan to fail.
I have the same skimmer on my 75 so hopefully I can help. Make sure your air hose is high up since when you turn it off it is hanging down it will create a siphon. I found that out the hard way. Look at the dial that is on the tube in the water. I have mine almost all the way open. Next adjust...
I would suggest getting reef/marine buffer and go up to about 8 on your ph like we keep reef tanks unless you have something that can't tolerate that high. (Which I cant think of anything.) Staying at 7 seems low to me. I would also try a different food. The fish I wouldn't think would have that...
