Hello, I only wanted to go with one because they can be aggressive in groups, would I be able to go with a pair, or would they be to aggressive to the loaches while in a pair?

I believe it changes depending on your bioload, the only reason why I do that on my other 55 gallons is because they have a very large bioload, I no longer think im going to do 50% on this tank though unless it gets to much of a bioload
