    Problem with threadfin rainbow

They were on azoo micro pellets, didn't work before I switched to fry food, before finally moving on to hikari pellets.

When you say frozen, you don't mean freeze-dried, do you?

    Problem with threadfin rainbow

Ph - 6.7-6.8 temp - 77°f filter - 2217 lighting is average, my tank being planted. They seem to like swimming against the current which is opposed to what I have read.

    Problem with threadfin rainbow

Yes I crush them, however, I have not been able to get my hands on the brine Shrimp. I am thinking of culturing some infusoria for the purpose. What do you think is the problem with these fish? Is it some kind of bloat? Malnutrition or anything else?

    Problem with threadfin rainbow

A month ago I had a school of about 20 in a 75g, this being my third batch. Now there are about 12-14 remaining. Every month or so one or 2 of these otherwise seemingly healthy fish will develop these lumps, or simply turn pale with clamped fins[sometimes without any lumps] and die(first 2...

    New tank question

At most, I'd wait for probably a day or 2 max.

    Blackbeard ?

Don't intend to hijack, but this I've always found confusing. 1ml per gallon would imply that if I have a 75g tank, that would be 75ml of glut/excel, right? If yes, then supposing I have say an area of 1inch that needs to be spayed with the peroxide/glut, would I spot treat 75ml on that 1 inch area?

Distinguishing between Neocaridina sp and Caridina sp

Wouldn't that affect the filtration/flow, or do you use an undergravel filter?

Distinguishing between Neocaridina sp and Caridina sp

Thats what I would do. However with new varieties of the same strain made available in the market frequently, it sometimes gets difficult to ascertain for sure.

Distinguishing between Neocaridina sp and Caridina sp

If they are both Neos, then I can house them in both the 10g and my 75g alongwith caridina[red][green or tigers locally caught]. However this leaves the question still unanswered. Is it possible to distinguish between neoc & cars by their demeanour?

Distinguishing between Neocaridina sp and Caridina sp

Actually I did not expect these to come by so quickly so I had been putting off the 10g set up for some time now. Guess there is a price for procrastination.;) You say blue velvet? I thought velvets were more uniform with bright blue colouration without any markings? These appear to have deep...

Distinguishing between Neocaridina sp and Caridina sp

I have a 10g that I had put on hold since I had not yet thought of a scape. Might have to use that as a last option since I do not want to keep those in a trough for the rest of their lives.

Distinguishing between Neocaridina sp and Caridina sp

Thanks for your response. Actually there are 3 blues and about 4 yellows that are berried. :D Anybody has any idea which genre they are?

    Amano shrimp

To add; Make a note of the number of molts you see as it can tell a lot. If they molt irregularly, say, 1ce or 2ce weekly, then something is wrong perhaps an injury or water parameters. If its periodic, then its natural. Also, note that juv amanos molt more frequently than adults. Initially @...
