20120511 Update: The damaged fish is doing fine in the quaratine tank. My wife added some macro algae, shells and sand because she felt sorry for her being in a bare tank.
The fish is swimming fine. Guess I just need to wait for the fins to heal.
Still no idea on what has caused the whole...
Blue Damsels will school and would be a nice contrast to the clowns. They do not get large either. I have three in the big tank. They are eye catching.
Turbo Snails
I agree with boardsurfer only I like turbo snails. They do not mess around with other things like coral. The snails like algae and it does not apparently make any difference what kind:)
My opinion is you are doing fine. Your water changes will help with the levels and you are close to being able to add starter organisms. I waited a month and then added some damsels to keep me busy and the system going.
Clown fish behavior is strange as I am learning from experience. Check out my thread in this forum.
I would try buying another fish and putting them both in the quaratine tank at the same time. Then both fish are on the same footing as to territory since it is new to both.
I have read that...
I am not aware of any time limits. That being said, I end up buying "nice" in bloom rock from my local fish store that has soft coral that I am interested in. This usually means I have to rearrange the reef and at times remove some of the rock. I live in the Texas Hill Country so the removed...
20120502 Update
First and foremost, thanks for the replies.
The harrased fish is doing okay in the quaratine tank. Fed it the first time this morning and it went right after it. Just got home from work so I have not fed yet this evening.
The fish is swiming fine as the filter is low flow...
One Opinion
I would use the local fish shops instead of online. It let's you start to build a relationship and decide what store you like. If your store's are like mine you also will end up buying really nice show rocks that have soft coral and other stuff you are interested in already...
Of course you can. The question is do you want to since that is a pretty good size tank. I am running at 1270 gallons per hour on about a 200 gallon setup when you count the regugium. I plumbed two pumps so they can be alternated with the water changes. This gives me a backup and time to...
20120501 Update: Female in Quarantine
I moved the female that has been picked on to my quarantine tank. Still working on acclimation. Her fins are all shredded but now she will be able to eat without getting messed with.
