I found the flow to be a little strong for the little guys. They keep swimming right in front of the ph. I decided to perform a slight mod. Cut up a sponge and put in in the ph. This slowed the flow a bit.

Converting my 14g biocube reef tank to a seahorse tank. I have zoo's, star polyps, and mushrooms in there now with them. Photos attached. They are 2 Kudas, yellowish and spotted. Everything looks great, Suggestions welcome, I've researched but there's always more to learn.

Just switched to black sand. Love the new look. I did 2 layers. Aragonite on the bottom and some dry black sand on top because it was darker and looked better.

As for the worms, I had the same overpopulation. I got an arrow crab, which looked pretty cool and hunted the worms for population control. Actually saw him catch one, hold it over his head, and rip it in 2 before eating it.

Went with both, black aragonite live sand on bottom, then a layer of dry black sand on top because it looked much better. The live black sand looked too much like dirt. I washed the dry black sand really good before putting it in the tank. I have everything set up now, and the black sand on top...

What's the difference if I use live sand vs dry sand at this point? My tank has been established for a few years and I want to switch to black sand. The tank is up and running right now with no sand bed. I discarded my white sand when I moved the tank. It's 65 gallons with about 65 lbs of live...

I just moved my 65g fish and coral tank and need to replace my sand. I was thinking about going with black sand. Any issues or differences I should know about?

Not really sure. I doubt it'll get very much bigger though. He's big enough for me and looks awesome in my tank

I love my giant serpent star!! ...when I can get him to come out lol. Got him at lfs about 6 months ago and he seems to be doing well. It was the biggest one I've seen. Does anyone else have one as big??

Torch has been doing really good. I did a water change And changed out all the filters to be safe. All the other heads seem uneffected to whatever happened to the head that died. My next step is learning how to frag some of the heads. Hope your torch is doing better.
