    I'd please

The lighting makes it quite difficult. Look at Brichardi Cichlid on a Google Image search and see if that has any resemblance to your little guy. If at all possible a better picture would make it a little easier.

    Lighting for cichlid tank.

I used to use the same as the 2 above, but have since went back to 1 10,000K daylight and 6,500K Grow light. The blue gives a good shimmer to the fish but color just wasn't natural, If you looking to bring out color in a under developed fish then i suppose that is the right choice. But its on...

    Freshwater Clams

They do eat small particles of fish food but it may be difficult to get enough food for them crushed into small enough particles, the tiny hairs used to sift the water are so small they are practicably invisible to the naked eye. They are pretty self sufficient and eat consistently. I would say...

    Freshwater Clams

Alright to make this simple i will discuss just how clams eat. Clams, like oysters, have no eyes, ears, or noses, so they cannot see, hear, or smell. But they do have a large number of feelers, or tiny hairy projections on their gills. When the clam’s shell is open, these hairs fan the water...

    Freshwater Clams

I've had a clam for a little while now and I was not told I had to spot feed them, I really don't even know how I would since I havnt seen him open any wider than in these pictures. He hides down in the substrate and then comes back up all the time I think they do fine just sifting water.

    Apistogramma

I tested the PH of the water they came in and it was 6.2 so I thought I needed to get it as close to that as possible.. They are less than 1/2 an inch which made me think they were born in the low ph water also.

    Apistogramma

Ive been hesitating setting up the tank because I'm planning on using market pantry water bottles since they have a ph of about 6.4 I want to make sure that's a good thing to do or if I should just lower my tap water from 7.6 using natural ways..

    Apistogramma

Ya the tank I'm setting up for them had alot of plants and a few caves for hiding places. Do u use a different water to give them a lower ph or do u use other ways to lower the ph?

My 3 babies are always hiding also they rarely come out. I think it's normal until they get a little older or feel more comfortable in a place. Also I have 1 question.. Rams

Ive heard alot of people say they have a hard time keeping rams but I really don't think we've done anything different.. Our male and female actually went through the tank being cycled with them in there and they even did fine though that. I Feed them new life spectrum flakes twice a day and...

    Apistogramma

We just bought 3 baby Apistogramma Bitaeniata's at an action this past weekend. I've been doing a little research on them, but would love to know anything from you guys about them. We bought market pantry purified water for them because when I tested the ph of that water it was 6.4. I know...
