I bought two small goldfish an Oranda and a telescope. We have been doing fine for the last 2 months, but I am having to clean the tank 2 times a week to keep my levels good. 25% at a time. They seem to be growing fast and I really do not believe I am overfeeding them. I am now looking at a 29...
Mine are on the flakes and they wait till they settle on the gravel before eating. They are young and store suggested to wait 3-4 months to switch to pellets. They really do seem happy with the flakes. Guess I'll just time them eating next feeding to see how long if enough cuz it really does...
I have a Oranda and a telescope both a little slow finding the food . I've read two pinches is sufficient but the food I'm using has flakes the size of half dollars! They are slow to find food. Do I crumble two of the large flakes or is that not enough? I've been doing 4 and they are eating...
I moved Fantasy back to bowl and moved Franz Kline into 5.5 Kline is much more active and aggressive I can't see introducing anything in the tank with him. He's got ever corner scoped out! Thank you both for you insight
Went back to saltwater today... He's a fighter! I'm not giving up but this has been about 3 weeks of recovery! I hope he makes it. I'm guessing I switched back to regular water too soon. Wish us luck!
Moved Franz Kline into 5.5 today. Thought I would rotate space until I can get another tank! Fantasy seems so much happier in his 2 gallon bowl. He's been swimming non stop. He just hovered in larger tank. Kline on the other hand has taken over ever corner of the penthouse!
Turn of events... Switched to h2 o with bettabasics and fins are falling off in chunks... He's still active and eating one pellet morning and night but looks brown on the base of his body and on his gills. I feel like I am left to just make him comfortable with water changes... Not looking good!
The fish supplier suggested small catfish with Betta for cleaning the tank.... The Betta seems to only be hovering in top 3 inches of the 5.5 gallon tank. is this a plan or a murder?
Thank you!!!! The bacteria is no longer obvious and the edges of the fins are no longer black! I have one still on salt water and one switched to regular water. They are still alive which makes me very happy!
