I'm getting plenty of bubble but the bubbles are overflowing into the cup

I just changed my skimmer from the hydro to the tunze9002 with the upgraded cup. My questions is, is it normal for my cup to get filled with alot of water during the break in period? The water in the cup is still dirty. But this has my top off working crazy my cup gets filled in about 10 hrs
