Thank you, I've grabbed some media out of my 160L (No ammonia in that tank) gonna add that now and see where it takes me. I'll keep checking the ammonia periodically ?

Cycled Filter did not remove Ammonia...

Hey so I grabbed a sponge filter that's been in my 160L cycled tank for 4 months now, and put it in my new 25L tank that will home a new Betta. I was under the impression that because the filter is already cycled, I needn't do anything else as I see a lot of people grabbing an already cycled...

Betta Fin Damage - Advice Needed

Right I've wiped the sides of cannister with this sponge and I'll place it in the HOB I haven't any more room for the balls but I'll put them near the sponge filter and then put the water in the filter when I've done the WC.

Betta Fin Damage - Advice Needed

Okay, what I've done; I removed some Biological Media Balls from the cannister filter that is in my 160L (has no issues and they have been there from the beginning of installing the cannister about 2 months ago) and I've put them in the HOB filter that's on Haiku's tank. I've also put some near...

Betta Fin Damage - Advice Needed

Maybe I'm gonna have to treat this situation as a fish-in cycle as I obviously stalled the other one when I stupidly removed all the sand -_- like I say his fins are getting better slowly.

Betta Fin Damage - Advice Needed

Hey thanks for replies. I have the sponge filter in and the HOB along with it, not taken any plants out and his fins are regrowing. I can see the paleness along the edges and they are generally looking less ragged. Our water is soft and low pH, no ammonia or nitrates, and I've been adding salt...

Betta Fin Damage - Advice Needed

Okay got the HOB set up ready to run. Hopefully makes a difference. His fins are healing luckily, can see the paleness where they are healing around the edges and they are generally looking less ragged. I'm just being really proactive. Done the 2 X 50% WC and added Aquasafe.

Betta Fin Damage - Advice Needed

Advice Needed; For about 2 weeks this tank had an ammonia spike but I've managed to get the parameters back to normal now. I have no question that the spike and stall of cycle is the reasoning behind his fin damage. It is definitely not fin rot. I need advice on what the best course of...
