Albino Cory playing dead Okay, so I found this thread when looking around to see if anyone else has had similar experiences....... I have a 10g tank at my office, and yesterday when I got to work, one of my 4 Cories was upside down. I was very dissapointed and went to get the net. When I turned...

Customary newbie thread (and plea for help)

So - considering I don't have access to a "CSI:Fishtank" lab, is there a way to test the water for poison? I'm okay with putting the past behind me, but really don't want to go through this again, and want to learn from mistakes. 1. I will wash and RINSE my hands/arms well before working in...

    Please I.D.

African cichlid, I believe, but very docile. Doesn't act like the Africans I've owned or watched before. I have him in a community tank now, and have my doubts that he would be compatible with mbunas. Anyone have one of these? Thanks in advance!

    Catching the little monsters!

If you're still having problems - try using 2 nets. I have found that to be rather effective when catching fast fish. Move the nets slowly - as if you're going to sandwich the fish between them - when you get reasonably close, move one net quickly toward the other. The fish will typically dart...

Customary newbie thread (and plea for help)

I'm here - Hi everyone! I've lurked for a while and have found a lot of insight from the posts here. I'm looking forward to some interesting dialog - not only getting help, but offering a few suggestions from my experiences over the past 10 years. I started fishkeeping over 20 years ago, but...
