Well, drastically changed the aquascape (from river rock to the slate stone) fed the big ones, turned off the light and fed them. They are all doing fine
That might be interesting. My plan is to fill the tank will lots of driftwood branches and cover the branches with moss an have the bottom covered in that short grass like plant. I jumped to the thought of neons because with so much brown and green the reds and blues would pop nicely.
Hi all! I've got a 55 gal tank I'm considering filling up with 75-100 neon tetras but haven't decided on them yet. I really want something that's at least that bright but as easy to breed as a platy and one that will also school very well. Any fish that meet 2 of 3 or even all three of these...
What about a submersible well sump pump? I found one that pumps 900 gal/hr at 5 ft which is plenty more than I need but I'm not sure if they are meant to be run for extended periods of time or not.
Sounds like it done cycling to me. The best thing you did was trying to get bacteria from your friend. I just set up a 55 gallon cichlid tank, added six used filters and the next day started adding fish. Cycling the tank allows for bacteria to grow and in the process harmful chemicals to...
I've got a 55 gallon tank with two African cichlids in it as of two days ago. I plan on putting 12 more in but don't know how to go about doing it. Should I put them in one at at a time or in groups?

How do they work?
What are the components...
I used 4 carbon canisters that had been use in my 75 gallon tank for three weeks and commercial blue pad filters that had been used in the 75 for two weeks. Is that enough bacteria to require more fish? I only ask since none of them had been used for a significant amount of time.
