So I'm pretty sure our blue balloon rams laid eggs. I noticed this morning that one of them was sequestering itself in a part of the tank it usually doesn't hang out in. I also noticed it was (uncharacteristically) very aggressive towards ANYTHING that got near it. Looked closer..... Looks like...

Lol yeah the angels in particular are not shy! I've done a lot of fiddling in the tank, so my hands have been in there a lot. They swim right up to my arms while I'm planting/trimming etc. Sent from my LG-H631 using Tapatalk

My pH runs at 8.0, so not as high, but certainly in the higher range. Most community fish will adjust to pH, though 8.8 is a bit high. How are you testing for pH? When ever I get really off test results I always retest before acting. Make sure your results are accurate before doing anything...

I agree with Stacy, start with what you have and add to it, mostly I would just say be aware that the hight can create challenges such as needing more light or dead spots. Sent from my LG-H631 using Tapatalk

I forgot to mention the powerhead. I find it helpful to run one lower in the tank line suggested. I have a canister filter and have the out flow direted near the surface to help with agitating the water surface for gas exchange. It doesn't allow for much current lower down. I put a powerhead...
