Hey.
We recently lost Barb number 3 of 4 and so are left wth a solitary fish in a 6gallon tank. We'd like to get another fish or two in there for company and wondered what would be best suited. We do have a slight problem with algae on the bottom so we did think a plecy would be good for...
Thanks guys.
We took the fish in question down to our LFS this afternoon, and he said straight away that it was parasites. The way she was acting was just like she had no energy, and all the nutrients she needed were been taken by the parasites. She must of picked them up when they were being...
Ok, here are the photos. The other female platy has developed a dark scratch abover her head and am a little concerned about it. She looks large enough to be giving birth again soon as well.
We've bagged up the fish individually and am taking them to our LFS for their opinion, the fish that is...

it seems that vertical is the way to be here. are there any differnces in performance of vertcail and horizontal heaters?
You say that you have your heater by the inlet, but surely is in not best by the outlet?
Quite a good discussion poin this! :P
Both of mine are vertical, but i may try putting the heater in the small 6gal tank at the back to hide it because i dont like having it on the side.
I've been wondering for a little while, which way it is best to have the heater in a tank. We have ours vertical, but is it bestfor it to be horizontal near the bottom of the tank?
Thanks,
Jon&Liz
