- At the present moment I have a 20 gallon tank with a Fruit Tetra, female Beta, fancy tail Guppy, Platy(2), Plecostomus, and a Serpae Tetra. I have just recently put them in a new tank because the tank these fish were in was awful, noone taking care of them. I took these fish plus another 2 fruit Tetras and 2 botton feeder catfish things to my house and set up a new tank for them. I put water conditioner in the tap water as directed and added bacteria supplement as directed. Was only able to let it run with the filter for a few hours before having to put the fish in the tank. Within hours one of the fruit tetras had died. Another Tetra was dead that morning than that evening a catfish was dead. I wasnt able to cycle the water properly since these fish wern't planned so Im assuming that is the cause. Since the catfish died, which was 2 days ago the fish seem to be alright for now but obviously the water cant be. What do I do now?
