That's what I do. I bought a few 5g jugs and fill them up for 39 cents a gal. I have had no problems with the water yet. I rent to so a ro unit is not an option yet. It's pretty cheap to get water from the store but I will get a ro when I get a house. I started going to a water place like...
well I just picked up three 5g water jugs and get them filled for 39 cents/g. It doesn't cost much to buy r/o water. I would like to get a r/o unit in the future but this works ok for now. I wouldn't recommend the hose or city water
yeah my tank has been going great for about seven months now. I just wasn't sure what would happen if I put this rock in. I think I'll put it in my water change tub to let it soak for a week or two and add it slowly. Now some are saying to soak it in fresh water first then add the salt a few...
I've been reading up on this and I'm seeing I might be ok putting it in my tank since I have LR in it already to start up the dead rock. Do any of you agree with that or should I put it in a plastic container to cure it first? I have around 60 lbs of rock in the tank now.

Yeah I know it's going to come back and probably fast. I'm just glad to know how to suck it out easier. I saved alot of water by using the air line to vacume the rocks with
thanks for all the help everyone! The air line worked great to clean the rocks. The tank looks so much better now that I was able to get in all the nooks and crannies. Thanks again for the great tips:)
well I've been online looking at pics and I was wrong. It is cyano and not the hair algae like I thought it was. Will anything eat that stuff or do I need to just keep working on getting it out. I stopped using the purple up and only feed the fish once a day. I'm thinking I may start feeding...
I guess I'm not really sure what it is. I really need to get you those pics as soon as my lights come on. I just thought it looked like hair swaying arond in their so I thought thats what it was
thanks for the site melosu58. I have tried most of those tips already. The only thing I haven't done is shut the lights off. I did cut them back and turned off a new 18,000k sun light. I wasn't sure if that caused the out break or not. I didn't want to turn the lights off completly though...
