I had kribensis have 3 breeds and each time the next morning the fry population diminishes until they are all gone in my community tank. I have since put the pair in a aquarium along 6 zebra danios. The parents really protect the fry. If I put the blue moonlight light on the led during the night...
I have a pair of kribensis that have bred for the 3rd time in my community 46 gallon. None of the fry make it past a few days. I cycled a 20 gallon high with the purpose of putting them in it. My question is should I just put them alone in the 20 or should I put some dither fish, say zebra...
Are Kribebsis safe with zebra danios
Using zebra danios as dither fish are kribensis fry safe in a tank with them. It seems they are one fish that just seems to swim around the top of the aquarium that my breeding pair are currently in. I am moving the breeding pair in a 20 gallon and I read...

I wasn't clear with my original title. I saw from a website called Angel Plus that they sell cycled sponge filters. There is also a YouTube video. Has any one tried them? He claims that by running this filter your aquarium is instantly cycled. Any thoughts?
Will running a sponge filter say 4-5 weeks in an established grow enough bacteria to help cycle a new 55 gallon aquarium. Also how much bacteria is on rocks or plastic plants also from an established aquarium to help cycle?
