What kind of tetras? I have heard they can be sympatico but that really depends on the Betta. Mine is a wuss really so I am cycling a 16 to move him into with some rasboras. Good looking tank. May want to plant it out a bit more so the fish can hide when necessary.

Well, I read just enough about the garlic method to know that they don't know if it works. In the meantime, I also read that doing between 1/4 and 1/2 dose of the Nox-Ich should treat while not also killing anything, so that is the route I am trying at the moment.

I don't know.... I had ghost shrimp in my 5g with my male betta and they just avoided each other. It sounds like something else is going on... like a bacterial infection of some sort.
