Did a Fishless cycle, didn't add fish until test showed 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite, an 10 Nitrate took about 2 or 3 weeks.
AQUARIUM info:
-60 gallon (marineland)
-Sand
-Fluval 306 Canister filter
-Keep temp at about 78 degrees
-1 LG bubbler decor & one 18" bubbler wall
-lots of plastic plants
Fish:
- 1 5" Jewel Cichlid (saved)
- 3 4" Convict Cichlids(saved)
- 2 2" convicts (saved)
- 1 2" Jack Dempsey
- 1 2" blood parrot
- 3 1.5" Op. Gouramis
FEEDING:
I feed once a day rotate between frozen Brineshrimp, tropical flake, an freeze dried bloodworms. I only feed enough that they can consume in about a minute no more rarely ever does any hit the ground if it does it's not long before they consume it.
Maintenance:
-30-40% WC once weekly
-Refill with tap water(we have extremely hard water) add kordon Prime as water conditioner, 20 mins after I add API stress Zyme to replace lost bacteria.
Problems:
Water now smells like pepper after I did treatment
