You can use seachems flourish comprehensive because the plants you have chosen are column feeders. If you do decide to get root feeders like swords, vals, crypts etc. you can buy or make your own foot tabs.

I have a Fluval U4 internal filter that I want to replace. It makes a huge mess when I take it out for cleaning, plus it takes up a lot of space and doesn't look that great. Can someone recommend a quiet reliable filter that's under $100. Thanks

You can use blasting sand, play sand, pool filter sand, and silica sand. Just make sure it's clean before putting it in your tank.
