    Peppermint Missing

Yeah...I'm done. I lost a $20 Cleaner Shrimp and $70 in Peppermints. My wife is jealous...I spent more on a dinner for the Coral Banded Shrimp than I did for her! Lol

Anyone else? The wrasse are pretty small, can't imagine them eating a dozen peppermints in one night

    Peppermint Missing

Ok guys, Here's my dilemma, on two separate occasions I have purchased a handful of peppermint shrimp. I have drip acclimated them and introduced them into my reef. They are fine and active, but by the next day they are all gone! I don't know what is happening to them. Nobody is picking on...

Make sure, if you're getting a Mandarin that you have a well established tank with a healthy copepod population.

    Protein skimmer

Adjustment need to be made in a tank by tank basis. It can fluctuate greatly by how heavily you are stocked, water parameters, etc.....even what you feed. I have my skimmer on a timer to shut off for 3 hours daily during feeding time. Zooplankton, Marine snow, rotifers etc can increase...

    Need help with finishing touches.

I agree, I'd go with the HOB AquaC Remora. I've used one and it pulls a ton of goop from the water column. As for the scratched, go to Walmart or Best Buy and purchase a CD/DVD scratch repair kit. It's a liquid that you apply and simply rub in and scratches will be filled in!

I love cleaner shrimp too, but like you I can't have one. My Coral Banded killed the last one.....lesson learned.

    Ibrahim's 25g Mixed Reef Build

Sorry...I meant you arent going to throw in livestock yet are you? Let it cycle and establish. With only 5 gallons, you're going to need a stable bio-load that isn't relying on the addition of chemicals to keep it that way.

Don't go too nuts adding salt...it takes some tome to stabilize in a new setup. Some of your salt may be concentrated in your sand bed. Check salinity daily and only adjust no more than once a day. You are going to let this cycle before adding LS right?

    Ibrahim's 25g Mixed Reef Build

I gotta tell you....I don't think you can put any powerhead in a 4 gallon tank with sand. There just isn't enough volume and you'll blow sand all over

    Ibrahim's 25g Mixed Reef Build

I have a very large Coral Banded Shrimp and a Cleaner Shrimp in the same tank for quite awhile....they have zero interest in each other. Keep smaller shrimp out perhaps....
