We have a kick *** sump with a huge skimmer. Our nitrates have always been 0. We are pretty meticulous water changers as well, and there is little aggression in the tank. Are you sure a Sailfin is ok in a 90 gallon tank? I heard they get big!

I always just take it in to my lfs. We have a testing kit, but it is not very accurate. I would just take a sample in to the store and let them know that a fish bit the dust and you are trying to figure out why.
