oh sorry you were serious
I basically have to squirt live bloodworms into their mouths for them or they won't eat. Good luck with that. :ermm: They are so freakin' passive!
Yeah I had a terrible run with zebra nerites...I couldn't seem to keep the ones I bought alive, and all of a sudden baby snails started emerging in my tank that never even had snails in it, and I have no idea where they came from  LFS plants, I'm guessing.
I do have alternate housing available if needed. Chances are, I'll just skip the betta and get a gourami.
I wouldn't put corydoras sterbai in a 20 gallon.. I was definitely thinking pandas or julii.
I'm aware of that whole barbel situation, but I'm not going to use sand. I'm going to find...
I'll second the others and say that it sounds like your fish was sick, and too weak to resist the filter and then died.
I wouldn't mess with the pH at all; your fish will adjust to what comes out of your tap, and for your purposes, those chemicals are pretty much a scam. :ermm: I'm not saying...
I used to sort of like the aesthetic of minimally stocked tanks, but got sort of burnt out when people kept asking me where all the fish were and I didn't have much to watch because all my fish were tiny and grumpy and hiding in the plants :ermm:
I like these ideas a lot. I could definitely go...
Do you think 5 cory cats would have less waste output than the platies and the gourami combined? I am kind of in lurve with cory cats and would be sad without them :ermm:
I'd also be willing to forgo the rasboras to avoid being so overstocked that I couldn't safely skip town for a week. (my...
I'm planning a 20 gallon tank for my new room... I would prefer small, peaceful fish that are fun to watch! (I mean they're all fun to watch, but I like watching foraging behavior and when they are all adorable and glittery)
I definitely want cory cats! :) they're so cute. I would also like...
Jenny seems happy, I need to do all the tests later today and definitely do a water test. I forgot to yesterday . I had a computer science lab due. She's in my boyfriend's apartment because I had Gamma's tank in my room :( poor Gamma. I am trying to cycle that tank and maybe this...
I have hard, alkaline water at 80 degrees in gravel with one step up from whatever stock light came with my 10 gallon kit. (not spectacular but good enough for anacharis apparently) I have to trim it my anacharis stalks about 3 inches weekly to keep it from growing above the waterline.
Your...
The same thing happened to me with neon tetras...I'm curious about why this happened as well. I had read something similar about their preference for soft water but I didn't know it could kill them so abruptly. I had pH 8.0 with fairly hard water :ermm: established tank and everything.
You did a spectacular job with your faux plants...
I love the way fish interact with real plants, and the way the fronds or whatever they have flow with the water current. Anubias doesn't require super special lighting, CO2, fancy substrate etc...Anacharis doesn't either. It grows like you...
