So I purchased some candy apple zoanthids a few weeks ago, and they opened up great and look incredible. However, recently a clump detached and was moving around by the current until it got stuck in between a couple of rocks. It's been there for two days now, and they still open and look great...

They've now been visible for 10 days to 2 weeks. However their numbers are slowly going down.

I've heard some great things about LEDs. I ordered some for my 2.5 gallon. However metal halides are powerful so LEDs may not quite match up.

I agree! A few of the middle ones started to open as well. They're green and blue

The ones in the middle were opened, but they just closed. Kind of shy!

Ok. Thank you for all advice. I will certainly look to upgrade when possible! And some of the zoas actually started to open. They closed now. Do they normally close at night? Also I must tell you where I got them-reefs2go. For $12 I got candy apple zo 5polyps, green zo 5polyps, and blue long...

Oh and would the LED's be fine by themselves? As in no other lights.
