I have recently decided to breed guppies along with my mollies and platys. Can I keep them (the adults) all in the same tank? I added a couple of guppies two days ago and the female died already. I don't want to keep getting guppies if they'll get killed by my mollies. It could have been a...
I did a 50% water change yesterday and she's back to her old self, zipping around the tank. I'm guessing I'll have to watch the nitrates more closely while I've got part of the tank divided off with fry in it. Perhaps I am over-feeding the fry a little, or they are producing more waste than I...
She's back in the main part of tank. (I have molly fry on the other side of a divider with the breeder in the fry side.) She immediately went behind a decoration and is just chilling by herself at the bottom. Does she look ready to pop to you guys? Or is she maybe just being weird?
To clarify. She looked preggo when I bought her. 6 weeks later no fry so I bought a male. It has been 2 weeks since I bought the male. She looks bigger than when I got her, but none of the time-frames match up. (too long for a pregnancy that started before I bought her and not long enough for a...
Some time ago I posted about my female platy that I thought was pregnant when I bought her. After 6 weeks without fry I figured I was wrong and bought a male hoping to knock her up. She has looked very large and has had what I thought was a gravid spot for close to 2 months now. For a couple of...
Well, he hasn't been at all aggressive to my other fish. No fin nipping from anyone. He pretty much keeps to himself. For some reason I think his presence has sparked something in my male Molly. He will not leave the females alone now. (Yay!) I think I may need to invest in some floating plants...
I am thinking of moving my lone male betta out of his bowl. The more I have read, the more I realize he would be better suited in a full aquarium. I currently have 3 Mollies and 2 platys in a 20 gal aquarium. I have high hopes for breeding the Mollies (2 female, 1male) and Platys (1 male, 1...
For both salt and fresh water (same test, just different result keys) He actually has multiple kits (a separate kit for each quality to be checked.) They are made by nutrafin.
I'm also doing the NH3/NH4 test for ammonia. My house mate has a salt water aquarium, thankfully I didn't have to go out and spend an arm and a leg on all these kits. Oh, the NO3 is somewhere between 0 and 5.
Okay. From what I've read, it looks like maybe my GH is too low...Which is odd considering how these test results read..... GH is 120, KH is 240. PH is 7.5. NO2 is 0 and I've just done the NO3 and i'm waiting for the results. Suggestions?
