I need to identify my eel

Its very common. Many stores sell a snowflake eel for freshwater. My best guess is that its a peacock eel. There is no freshwater snowflake moray, but Im not entirely sure that theres no freshwater snowflake (non-moray)... but again, my best bet is that its a peacock eel.

    pregnant golden barb question

I know that barbs dont get pregnant. The females produce eggs (making them fat), and then they lay the eggs so the male can fertilize them. I just wanna know how to persuade them to lay and fertilize, and will a little bucket like the fish stores use to put your fish in before they go in the...

    pregnant golden barb question

Not to hijack the thread, but my female tiger barbs look FAT, which I assume means theyve got eggs. How do I induce spawning? Would I have to have a tank I can move them into in order to keep the eggs from being eaten, or would a little plastic 'breeding cup' work (like that hangs on the rim...

    Snail friendly fishes..advice needed.

Wow, endlers are really neat. I would love to get a few of these guys, but nowhere local has them and I cant bring myself to pay $20 shipping for $10 of fish. So, I will have to find myself some plain old guppies. Any suggestions on which types have personality? I'd rather fun fish than pretty...

    Snail friendly fishes..advice needed.

Ok.. I am getting three 10G and a 5G mainly for breeding snails in. Im going to have 3 each of Magenta, Violet, Ivory, Walnut (or Chestnut, whatever), and Gold Apple / Mystery Snails. I am thinking that I may as well add a couple of small fish to the tanks. So, as my snails ummm, recreate (which...

    Sand in my FW tank?

Cool. Theyre in and frolicking. Ive never seen my barbs so tightly schooled. I wish they would stay that way. Thanks for the advice, I wouldve tried to keep them out of the tank until it was clear.

    Sand in my FW tank?

When can I put my fishes back in the tank? How clear does it need to be? Thats really my main concern. Thanks for the morale boost, too.

    Sand in my FW tank?

Hey, thanks, everybody! Its nice to be on a forum where people help people instead of flaming and moaning about this guy or that guy... This sand is pretty while settling. I can see milk-white clouds of it wafting in the current. How neat. When I need to adust my plants and stuff, will I kick...

    Blind gourami?

I got the gouramis maybe three days ago. His eyes look fine, except theres a tiny little milky dot in the center of each. He did run from the net though, so while I suppose he might be psychic, or a ninja-fish, Im leaning towards your suggestion of adjusting to new surroundings. Thanks.
