Wanted to add that this is a 55 gallon tank, cycling as I type. I'm thinking that buying them as juveniles may decrease aggression a bit.
Has anyone had experience with this?
Also what is their growth rate?
Hi everyone,
I was wondering if anyone has any experience on buying sexed peacocks (3'') vs buying a group of juveniles (1'') and waiting to see which are male vs female.
Buying them as juveniles is the cheapest option but eventually I'd have to remove the females.

Hi all. I am wondering home many peacock cichlids I can fit in a 55 gallon? is gender important? Should I add them in increments or all at once?

I'm not sure of the exact name of the substrate but it's similar to the Aqueon Shrimp and Plant Substrate. The plants came from the store in a small black cup and I took them out washed them and tried to separate them into individual plants as seen in the picture.
thank you!
Hi, currently I have a 6 gallon tank with shrimp balls as substrate. I recently added cryptocoryne parva and I'm hoping it will carpet the tank. I don't use any CO2, but I have added root food to the substrate.
My question is, how long will it take for the tank to be carpeted?
Thank you!:D
