    Fish Dying - Stumped

I'm having an issue with a fish die off. I've got a 20G long that's been set up for 2 years now, sand bottom with some Christmas Moss on a driftwood and some plant (anubias?) That I was given at Petco (only place besides Walmart with fishies in my town). Backstory: Anyways, I can't decide if...

    Corys and Apistogramma?

They only get like 2 inches long, you really think they might go after the shrimp

    Corys and Apistogramma?

It's a standard 29 gallon, I forget the measurements off hand.

Any sort of shark fish also grow too large for a 20G Long. Ottos are perfect for you, but find out what that other fish is, or see if you can snap a picture.

Amano shrimp and fresh water prawn hiding

The Angels and the Discus both eat shrimp. They will both, when big enough, actively hunt shrimp constantly. I used to put white clouds and Ghost Shrimp into my old 40L where I had three angels, they'd go nuts and hunt down a dozen shrimp in a few days.

Amano shrimp and fresh water prawn hiding

Discus will eat pretty much any fish or crustacean that will fit in their mouths. At the moment, you've got the little guys, if they're still around, in a world of fear and terror.

I'd say, just as a quick thought, that they're probably hiding from the Angel Fish, Angels usually make fast food out of shrimp.

The pleco will way, way outgrow your tank. You should take it back to the fish store.

    Freshwater, Seeking Questions & Advice

So that bottom feeder is a Plecostomous (excuse the spelling), aside from a handful of oddball species, Plecos (as they're commonly known) get HUGE. I've seen common and sailfish pleco litterally 20 inches long a year old. On top of that, very few plecos are actually GOOD algae eaters, do they...

Can you give a picture of the bottom feeder? The orange fish looks like a Platty, but I could be mistaken. As for the algae, I would invest in an algae scraper to deal with the stuff on the glass, and cut back on light. Also, how much is the light on? Have you tested the water recently? Bottom...

    Corys and Apistogramma?

I've been wondering the same thing as I'm looking at adding Appistograms, Cories, Khulis, Ottos, and some shrimp together to my 29 gallon planted setup. I feel like the shrimp will likely get along with anything that doesn't wanna eat them, the khulies hide a lot and are only active at the...

    how to move a tank...

I wouldn't even take the fish out if it's that small of a fish tank, empty it down to about 2-3 inches of water, just enough to cover the fish without laying them down, then carry it CAREFULLY to the tank's new location, and stick it where it goes, then fill'er up. On small tanks, don't...

    Acrylic vs Glass

Personally, for the average person, I think glass aquariums are perfectly adequate. I would love to get an acrylic tank, but I can buy a tank at a dollar-per-gallon from Petco and have more money for fish and supplies later, plus everything I've read says that glass in addition to being somewhat...

    PH Buffering

Hey, any advice helps, I'm going to be doing a lot of reading on this, people's experiences are what I wanna hear about. I'm gonna get API master test kit and the GH/KH test kit soon.
