2 zebra danios with big bellies

They seem to be fine and happy. They other fish are doing well. Its really hard to see if the scales are pointing out because they are so fast. They never stop moving. I just boil some peas and drop them in?

2 zebra danios with big bellies

Hi folks. I have 2 zebra danios that have big bellies. One of them looks like a huge beer belly. These 2 fish eat the most ... but i have not fed them that much today. What could be causing the swollen belly?

Just another Fish in cycling question

It takes a while. It took me about 5 or 6 weeks. Just check your water everyday. I used a lot of Prime. Sometimes when i didnt have time for a daily water change i just dosed with prime. Patience patience patience. You cant miss the spike in nitrites. It will happen.

    hungry danios

They are good bottom feeders! Lol. I put a few blood worms in... the danios will take one in and swim around with it hanging out of their mouths. Lol then i put in a pinch under the surface and the cardinals got a bit more to eat. Pretty funny. You just have to see it.

    hungry danios

They are like little vacuums. I should be more generous with the food since the corys can clean up the bottom. And the danios are pretty good at cleaning up too.

Ill try that. I also feed omega one shrimp pellets and blood worms. Petsmart was out of omega one's flakes. Hope to get some soon. Overall everyone seems to be doing well. Thanks!

    hungry danios

My zebra danios eat all the food before my other fish have time to get a nibble. Not sure what to do. Im feeding tetra min flakes. I spread the flakes around the top of the tank and they just get after it. The little bit that sinks gets to the cardinals but its not much. Any suggestions to help...

    what type of cory?

Its cool Rose22. I was thinking the same thing of getting more smaller size fish than having a few bigger bottom dwellers.

    what type of cory?

I was thinking of getting also otos also. Let me know what you like and i can research your suggestions. Im open to anything thats not too expensive. $50 for sterbai corys is a bit much. But im excited that im finally cycled and ready to add some fish.

    A sand question

I got the all purpose sand. I personally like it more than the play sand. There are small different colored rocks mixed with the sand. I used the whole bag because i sort of wanted my castle to be on a mountain.
