Reducing phosphates will help. I also put a lawnmower benny in and he chomped it all in the space of about 2 weeks.

I started mine on live gutloaded feeder shrimp. Then I moved to frozen small baitfish that I skewer with a clear feeding stick. Wiggle it in front of them and they take it every time. It has to be a clear plastic stick though or they ignore it.
Yeah I'll pull the eel out at some point. I've got 2 other spare 75 gallon tanks I could drop him into if need be.
I'm running an oversized canister and skimmer plus I do weekly 10 gallon. Water changes.
Params are all good, nitrate always a little high but nothing to get to worried about.
My dwarf predator tank...
40 gal
Inhabitants:
2 fuzzy dwarf lions
Black wartskin angler
Yellow head moray eel
Feeding them frozen baitfish and gutloaded ghost shrimp.
Hi, I started my dwarf lions on live mysis shrimp and small feeder shrimp. I then gradually weened them onto frozen shrimp and fish using a clear feeding stick and wiggling it round to get them interested. Only a clear stick would work... Any other colour and they wouldn't come near it.

I feed my dwarf lions with small frozen sprats that I attach to a clear feeding stick.
They were very easy to train to frozen foods when I switched to the clear stick.

They do best in brackish water about 1.016 salinity. I have heard of people slowly acclimitising them to full marine but only for short periods. Aggressive little buggers too.
