    a little help please

Can anyone identify this round bluish thing that's growing on my LR? I think it might be some kind of sponge. It's been there for a couple years and hasn't changed. It dosen't seem harmful. This will be my first picture upload so I hope I do it right:) Thanks

    Need help on fish

Dragon and diamond gobies will sift the sand somewhat but if you have a shark they would probably get eaten

    Gobies?

I LOVE Gobies. Some really cool small ones are the high fin red banded shrimp (also called rose goby), tiger shrimp,& green clown goby. I think most of the "shrimp" gobies sty pretty small.

    What fish could I get?

How about small gobies. I had a high fin red banded shrimp goby (sometimes called rose goby) and he was adorable and very small

    what did i do wrong?

what about your PH and temprature? A sudden big change in either of those could have detrimental effects. I once had a heater malfunction and my tank went up to well over 90 degrees. All the fish were still alive but, in a panic, I dropped the temp too quickly (10 degrees in 24 hours) and...

    Lonely Damsel??

Hi I've had a pair of yellow tail blue damsels since I set up my tank about 3-4 years ago. They used to lay eggs every few weeks, none ever hatched but they kept at it. Anyway, I just found my female (Tiny) dead yesterday. She somehow got herself stuck between two rocks??? I'm wondering if my...

Mandarins, are they really a difficult fish?

I must be really lucky. I've never had ICH in my salt water tank ( many times in fresh but..)and I've never QT any fish. I've purchased all but one of my fish at the same LFS and never had a problem

    Massachusetts

I agree. Rodger knows his stuff. I've been going there since they first opened and I was new to salt water tanks. He helped me get started.

    Hello, New Member Here!

Welcome Scottb and good luck cycling your tank. I've never done fishless cycling. When I started my first tank I started with Mollies. Didn't work out so well so I went to my LFS and the owner gave a dozen goldfish (feeders) and a sponge from tank in his store. He said that goldfish poop...

hii loow (snl joke)...... new 55 gallon tank cycle?

You have to scrape out the old with a razor blade and repace it. Make sure you buy silicone that is made for aquariums and not just stuff for household use. It's toxic to fish

    Copepod propagation

Great news!! I saw my spotted mandarin eat 3 frozen brine shrimp. There is hope. He actually looks a little plumper (is that a word?). I'm going to keep squirting the brine shrimp around him and adding the rest of the pods. Thanks for the help everyone.

    Copepod propagation

I bought some live copepods (trigger pods) at my LFS for my Spotted Mandarin. I bought him a week ago. He's been picking at the LR but iI don't know if he's getting anything. He's getting thin. I just got the pods today. Will the pods multiply in the tank? 46 gallon only about 12 lbs LR...
