Yes, there are five plant pots and one feeding port. And yeah, it can be hard to keep it stable, I've got a 2.5 gallon that I "think" is cycled now.

Yes, its the screw in type base. I've read that my hood can take 25w bulbs. I don't know if that applies to fluorescents.
