hey all i currently have a sump with the bio filter material and im going to turn it into a refugium. my lfs told me to take half the material out of the sump then the rest of it a week later.. i did in fact take about 1/4 of it out today n now im wonrdering if that will affect my tank in anyway...

hey all i have a 90gal reef tank with power compacts 65watts for the lighting.. which they are good but im limited to certain coral and their placement.. i was wondering what would be a good lighting source for me to upgrade to that has lunars but wont cost me 800.00 which is what i found...

should i put food in the sump for the crab abd some live rock?

I cant get a picture of him bc he will not leave the rock. The crap sticks a empty snail shell in the hole so we cant see him. lol. It is a blackish gray color with red eyes. I will try to get a pic. @Matt thanks I will try your idea to see.

well my calcium lvl was at 230 so i added it to bring it up to 420 thats where it is right now but in a day or 2 it will be low again around 230 is that normal and should i not add anything im new to corals so im not sure

well i have a very lot of coraline algae and my alkalinity is always off tne charts i nhave done water changes and still its very high i do not know how to bring it down my clcium i check very frequent and add when needed

no nothing special thats what they told me to add for corals i will stop adding it then thank you. n i will do my watr changes i do them evey 2 weeks like clock work. so should i add calcium still and alkalinity?

i dont know the fish store told me i needed to add it along with calcium and carbonate alkalinity i bought the bottles should i not add the iodide to the tank anymore

I have the reef test kit and it does not have a iodine test y is that and do i have to check for that since i keep adding it to my tank.. how do i test for it and what should it be i cant find a test for it at the fish store

Hello all i have fiji rock that was out of water fo 3 days then i added it to the tank and that was to start the tank up i had ammonia and nitrites spiking.. but to my surprise it has been 7 months now i just noticed that i have a hitchhiker in the rock? it does not look like a manti shrimp it...
