    Starting over

Ive found that the smell usually comes from prime or amquel plus that has been opened too long and started to get funky. I doubt it was the sand, unless you were cycling your aquarium, then a wierd fishy smell is normal especially if your cycling using fish food. Carbon can get rid of smell or...

    Red Gills No Ammonia

Probably gill flukes, but of course just my opinion. I use general cure, but formalin, paraguard, and prazipro (praziquentnel) will all kill gill flukes Body flukes are common among guppies and probably all fish from a pet store Its almost like fleas on a dog.

    Strangely persistent White poo

It might be a diffrent type of worm, prazipro dosent kill them all. You may need to try pancur or prohibit.

    Freakin Out

Ick can be killed using a seperate tank and Methylene blue. Dont need to destroy the healthy tank if you can.

    Extreme Case: Body/Fin Rot

2.5 years means the betta is probably getting old and dying just like everything does. People forget fish dont live forever, its not always our fault they get old and die.

    Sick guppy, new aquarium owner

No point in buying meds for dropsy. If anything your best bet is to do more water changes and hope for the best. Especially if you live in the UK where meds can be hard to find. Keep an eye on them for stringy poo or worms coming out their bum.

    Fish dying rapidly

They probably would benfit from an antibiotic at this point. Are there symptoms? Tail rot, body sores, fungus? Oxytetracycline works good in flake food So does Doxycycline. Both are effective broad spectrum antibiotics Feed it to them dont kill your good bacteria in the tank.

    Raising temperatures to treat inch

I think any tropical fish can take 86, if you do it that way, be prepared its alot more work vs just bying some "quick cure" at walmart for 4 bucks and killing ick that way.

Wasting Disease has claimed my tank

Use the general cure in food with galic, dosent work that well in hard calcium water we have here in the midwest. Do I have to disenfect everything? No, never really have to do that, unless you plan on getting out of fish hobby ;) It can be also caused by bacteria, or just weak fish genes.

    Frustrated, want to give up.

They are weak inbred fish. Constantly dying off not your fault. They only live about a year and a half under ideal conditions. If you dont like loosing fish consider getting stronger, like a more wild fish or non-livebearer. Otherwise all i can say is you get use to it.
