So tonight I did a water change and then made a ball with the floating plants that I put him in so he could rest closer to the surface. I'm also going to keep the lights off and hold off on feeding him and his tankmates. Anything else I should be doing?

If you are looking for a cheaper alternative flora-max is basically Eco complete (same company too) but without the bacteria water. My 20 long has a mix of red flora max and black Eco complete and it looks very nice. :)
