Some fish are just a little crazy. My fancy guppy has gone on a murder spree, killing over ten guppies at least (always at night). But when he's all alone he gets scared as he is a schooling fish.
They really are quite vicious and while it may amusing to watch them try and fail at catching your fish once and awhile when I got a Cory cat to help clean up since lazy bum wasn't doing his job and the next night after turning on the lights to find the poor little guy in his jaws I really felt...
Wish I had you to stop me from purchasing 2 Crayfish at the local fish store. They were cool and helped clean the bottom but they attacked my bottom dwellers and other fish. I researched but nothing prepared me for those monsters. Needless to say I replaced them with two adorable cories.

I made an interesting development while cleaning the filter. On the back of the cartridge thing their were clumps Brown black stuff that looked like hair? Could it be both as my brown gravel came before I replaced the filter yet it hasn't grown up, only spread...
Alright so far my tank has been mostly incident free except for a disastrous water change that I attempted and I want to keep it that way and I have noticed Brown Stuff on the gravel. I have no idea if it is some kind of algae or just gunk accumulating on the bottom (my cories take no notice.)...
