zagz & blackmolly: okay. will do, thank you so much for all the help.
and the hydrogen peroxide dip and rinse will allow the plants to be placed in my community tank? I don't think I'm gonna get another betta until after i move..
okay thank you for your help. unforunately I won't be able to grab clove oil until after work tomorrow :( i'm going to hate doing it but at least i know he'll be in better condition instead of slowly dying a painful death :(
One more question: are live plants susceptible to the bacteria that...
where can I find clove oil? I've been calling stores to see if they have any but I hear it's in eye medication? The only one I found was olive and clove oil so I did not get it since it's for human hair or something like that.
And yes, his scales are slightly raised. I've read that once you...
blackmolly: I was really considering it but when I did research on the subject they said anything using extreme hot or cold was inhumane... So I didn't know if I should use that or not...
I came back from vacation over Christmas break to a very very sick Betta. I just got home yesterday and of course the person who was taking care of him does not recall him ever being sick when they had seen him. I am not sure how long at all he has been sick.
Doing research I found he might...
I'm getting a new fish tank in about a month (for birthday) because I'd love to get a Betta in a 5g to add to my tanks. :D A friend of mine has a 5g they no longer want and are selling once they sell their fish this weekend. I asked if I could have their media in order to establish my new 5g...
Eco I think my sisters just silly :) i went over after work to help her check on her tank and i did 2 ammonia, nitrite, nitrate tests an hour apart and got 0ppm ammonia, 0ppm nitrite and 5ppm nitrate with the 3 guppies in there since yesterday evening.
Well it was a used tank and she has a new filter with the old filter up next to it and 3 guppies in there right now. She kept an eye on everything for about 4 weeks and every time she put flakes in the water and have it up in ammonia the ammonia would be gone within a day. She is using my API...
It doesn't look like my edit worked so I'm gonna just post another reply. Sorry if it's up here twice.
I should mention that she has a 10 gallon and wants to get all fancy male guppies (she loves their different patterns) and a few ghost shrimp eventually. Thanks for all the help Eco!
Okay I will :) I'll go talk to my LFS about it too. I found a new one yesterday that I'm really excited about, I'm pretty much done forever with chain pet stores.
I have one more quick question for you Eco about my sisters tank that she got done cycling last week. She put in 3 new fancy guppies...
So I don't even need carbon? Just the filter media pouch? Does carbon not do anything for the water unless there is medication in there? And are there places where you can just buy the pouches? Where I've been looking is usually pouches and carbon packets together. So if I buy those I might use...
I was wondering about changing filter media before the time comes when my pouch is ripping apart. I rinse the cartridge now in tank water once a week. How often do I need to change the carbon in the pouch and can I just buy the activated filter carbon from walmart? It's like $3 for a carton of...
How did y'all cycle your Betta tanks? I'm looking for a quick way to cycle so I can get a new Betta asap! I currently have a 10 gallon community tank :)
