Great. I thought high ph stresses fish which could lead to death. Didn't know they could tolerate more or adjust.

No driftwood. High is 7.6. It is stable. Tanked is stocked with gourami , albino Cory, mollies, penguin tetra. 15 fish in total. 36 gallon tank. No plants only fake coral arrangements. Tank is 2 months old.

Need help lowering ph levels. Have tried the chemicals and they don't seem to help. Have sand in the tank. Nitrites and nitrates are in line.

My blue rams don't like it. Think it's stressing them out.

Ammonia is now dropping. Looks like running the established filter has helped. Odd thing though, ph is higher than expected. Running 7.4. Any thoughts on contributors?

I have some ghost shrimp in the tank. Could that have an impact on the cycle process. Thanks for the advice. I hooked up the old filter to help. Will leave that for a few days. The other tank is vacant so that's not a problem. I'll let you know how it goes.

Thanks for the advice. I had a well established 10 gallon that I used to partially fill the new tank (36gallon). Also placed the bio wheel in the tank for the first week. Was told this should satisfy since I included the 6 fish from the small tank during the transfer. Guess I was informed...

Doing 40% changes daily. Water clouds up but next day is clear again. Ammonia levels slightly lower. Keeping feedings to a minimum for now. Does it matter that it's a canister filter? It's setup correctly. I thought these cycled faster. No other fish are showing the same signs the others did...

Water checks out ok. The only aspect is slightly elevated ph.7.4. Not sure if this is stressing them, but I moved him to another tank without any fish and ph is 7 there. He is getting worse. Was lingering at top of tank, now he is breathing on the bottom laying on his side. Can't see anything...

I have had several pass this way. I can't get any answers about what it is. I saw a translucent thread hanging from its nether region and thought parasite. Treated with something for them but it still died. The symptoms are the same every time. They always separate themselves from other fish...
