I thought chaeto isn't supposed to grow out of live rock.

Can I get an Id on this. It's slowly growing in a spring like motion. It looks like a green stem.

Thanks, hopefully it's hardy, looks good in tank, all polyps open and it's bouncing around with current.

Anybody know if it's photosynthetic or I need to feed it?, it's polyps all seemed closed this morning before lights came on and now they r open, so I'm assuming it derives most of its energy from the light.. Any answers would be much appreciated.

Do it the right way... I went in thinking it was easy and bought my 6 gallon tank (if I researched would have gotten a 30-50 gallon) for my daughter for her Bday. Overpaid for tank, and obvious limited space in 6 gallon. Plus my daughter lost interest after a week and it became my expensive...

Hey just picked up this gorgonian. Can somebody help me with a few questions. Does it need to be fed?, the LFS said no but I've read conflicting stuff. Also I have it with medium light and moderate flow, is that good?, any thing I should know about it?, predators, weaknesses, etc....
