    Live plant recommendations??

I'm hoping to restrain myself and take things slow as well. I don't have much patience. X)

    Live plant recommendations??

By strong light, what wattage are you talking about? I'm considering investing in a high wattage desk lamp. I'll keep this in mind.

Also - for the dwarf hair grass, can it be grown in a gravel substrate?

    Live plant recommendations??

Okay, so I've been toying with the idea of keeping live plants in my betta tank. I'm waiting on some supplies to come in the mail so I can cycle it before I purchase a fish, but before I get started I thought I would explore my options for live plants. The thing is, I don't know anythinnnnng...

A few fishless-cycling questions concerning bettas

A few fishless-cycling questions concerning bettas

Thank you so much - I just placed an order for a relatively cheap sponge filter that looks small enough to accommodate the size of my tank. Do you have any advice concerning the BB media? Is it needed? Or can I cycle my tank without it? :thanks:

A few fishless-cycling questions concerning bettas

I'll look into the sponge filters. What if I left the filter in the tank, just had it turned off? Does it need to be turned on in order for the BB to be beneficial to the rest of the tank? Thank you very much :)

A few fishless-cycling questions concerning bettas

I've looked over several different threads concerning fishless cycling. All have mentioned the use of a filter to aerate the water and provide oxygen for the bacteria. My problem is that bettas like very little to no water movement. So a filter (especially in a small 3.5 gallon tank) is very...

    Hi, my name is!

Autumnsky: Yes! I love bettas. I have most of the setup ready! A 3.5 g. tank with adjustable heater, silk plant, cave hangout, and I went out and bought gravel and an API Test Kit today. I'm considering cycling my tank before I introduce a new fish, but haven't decided whether or not I'm gonna...

Hello all, My name is Marina and I'm excited to be a part of the Aquarium Advice community! I've been (and still am) a member of various other betta forums. I've had two betta fish in the past, but both have died after only a few months. Not sure if this is bad luck or I am doing something...
