Got some pics. Also, she ate some peas last night and was swimming around a bit.

I did a 30% water change today and added some epsom salts.
I was just doing my weekly checking of the water parameters for my 55g cichlid tank. I was using the API strip test. Everything was in check except for the PH, which is showing up at less than 6.0. So I broke out my API test tube pH kit... and the test is reading at 7.6!
What could make my...
I picked up two keyhole cichlids from someone about a week ago. I noticed right away that one of them was extremely fat. I didn't think much of it because it was obvious the person I was getting them from wasn't a very good cichlid keeper.
They were put into my tank with two severums and were...
Their bellies have gotten so yellow!
This is a picture of one of them before I bought them: http://image.usedvictoria.com/photos/01/07/17726307_640.jpg
And this picture was taken yesterday:

I was feeding a variety diet of blanched lettuce and peas, cichlid...
A new problem with these two has arisen... they haven't eaten in two days. They'll nibble at frozen bloodworms but won't touch the pellets.
They have stopped lip-locking, and occasionally the larger one will banish the smaller one to the other side of the tank. The larger one also has a bit of...
Alright, that makes a lot of sense. Will they eventually settle down? Should I put a few tank mates in to settle the tension?
Thanks for all your help!
Got some pics... don't mind the watermarks on the tank, they've been splashing like crazy. I have a lid but I keep it cracked slightly open for better aeration.
The left one is slightly larger:

Larger one on the right this time...
No other tank mates, they are all alone. The person we got them from never mentioned any aggression between the two of them, and they are about two years old and grew up together.
Have two 6" green severums in a 55g. I got them from someone keeping them in a community cichlid tank and said he never noticed them breeding and wasn't sure if they were a breeding pair. He assumed it was because they were in a community tank.
They've settled in nicely in my tank and have...
The LFS has them labeled as "Green Puffers" which would be T. Fluviatilis but after doing some research I believe they are really "Green Spotted Puffers" T. Nigroviridis. I'm aware they need a larger tank and I have an available 33 sitting in my basement which I think I will set up for him as he...
I have an established 10g FW tank with an UGF. I would like to convert this tank to a brackish water for one puffer. My question is will an UGF work if I'm using gravel and not sand?
Also, if I switch to a HOB filter, should I keep the two running simultaneously until the HOB is established? Or...
Hi!
I have a 20 gallon with two male swordtails and two female swordtails. I know you're supposed to keep more females than males, but a friend needed to get rid of them due to a leaking tank and I took the males in. They grew up in my tank and they were fine. Now as mature males one has become...
