As long as you're feeding your fish what they can eat in a few minutes, twice a day is not a problem. I think the placement of the tank has a lot to do with the algae growth seeing how it is such a pretty green. Natural light will feed algae so fast. I have curtains I close during the mid day...

Hello all, new to this site but not to the hobby. Have had only fresh water community tanks for the better part of 25yrs. Started my first cichlid tanks 4 years ago (thought they were all mean fish) and have been hooked ever since. They are the most amazing fish to watch. Hoping to learn...
