The friendliest place on the web for anyone with an interest in aquariums or fish keeping!
If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
Within the last few months my wife and son (5 year old) have expressed a lot of interest in the hobby. I'm not sure if it's because I put my interest in the hobby on hold or what. They were the ones that tried to maintain the tank. They even did a partial water change on their own! Over the...
Yeah I read about the heat treatment for the ich and if it turns out to be ich I'll go that route. I'll test the ammonia tonight, I just don't have much faith that it's an ammonia level issue.
Thanks for the replies.
I have a new largish angelfish behaving abbynormally which has me concerned. Answwers to questions are below.

Hey all, not sure anyone remembers me but I was around a couple years ago. Needed to look up some stuff and came here first. I logged in and got a pop up. What did the pop up say? "We'd like to take the opportunity to wish you a happy belated 40th birth day." Not sure if that made me happy or...

That's great news. Don't take the surgery too lightly, as any surgery has risk, but be overwhelmed that it's not cancer.
How soon til surgery?
I'm surprised a PII can handle XP. Sounds like it would be running slow. I like the recommendation of using it as a file server, if you have a network going at home or you want to set one up. That system would make a fine computer for someone who doesn't currently have one.
